Victory Memorial Drive Rededication program that includes a vintage military plane flyover, laying of wreaths, 21-gun salute, and live music.
Say Thanks Day
This event is being held in conjunction with the Minnesota Military Appreciation Fund's Say Thanks Day. The 5K run/2 mile walk begins at 9 a.m., with registration at 8 a.m. and a program at 10 a.m.

Victory Memorial Drive Rededication and Say Thanks Day Activities

Band Shell: Music by the Sounds of Blackness 10:45 – 11 a.m.; Robbinsdale Concert Band during and following the Victory Memorial Drive Rededication program.

VMDR History Tent/Exhibitors: The stories of WWI, WWII, Korean/Cold War, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan by Hennepin History Museum; a photo story of the Victory Memorial Drive; exhibits and information by Hennepin County Veterans Service, Hennepin History Museum, Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, Brooklyn Historical Society, Robbinsdale Historical Society, Minnesotans' Military Appreciation Fund and Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Children's Tent: Participate in a scavenger hunt of Victory Memorial Drive and learn about its significance and history. Make a Victory Seed Packet or a Glider pull toy. Fun and informative for all ages. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Concessions: Provided by Camden and Robbinsdale Lions starting at 8 a.m. with donuts and coffee; brats, hamburgers and hot dogs, etc. from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Military Assets: Vehicle and aviation displays by Minnesota National Guard, Minnesota Air National Guard, and Commemorative Air Force – Minnesota Wing. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Re-enactments: Authentically unformed soldiers will commemorate the WWI soldiers, including the 369th Infantry Regiment. Examine authentic equipment and enjoy demonstrations. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Experience the life of Virginia Mae Hope, WWII WASP, and her adventures in the Re-enactment Tent at 10 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.

MMAF Say Thanks Day Activity Area: Say Thanks Day information tent/pledges; t-shirts, 5K registration, and Fallen Service Member Memorial. 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
